The ritual practiced by Mandate Lodge is Taylors Workings which can be traced back to the late nineteenth century when in 1885 Henry Hill, who was Master of St. Marylebone Lodge No.1305, developed The Manual of Craft Freemasonry. In 1900 this was published by a printer called M. M. Taylor who later went on to publish the first edition of the ritual book under its current title M. M. Taylor’s Handbook of Craft Freemasonry in 1908. Since then there have been further editions published in line with recommended changes from United Grand Lodge of England.
